When I was a little girl that was in the early 60's I remembered peeping on the gaps of our bamboo floor seeing the so called "goons" of the the national party (the superior reigning party) swarming under our stump house all in white t-shirts with a red print at the back the mayor's name on it. We were told by our parents not to make any tiny bit of noise not even to cough not even to move. We were all lying on a mat with our stomach on the floor. I saw dad peeping so I copied. I was small to understand all those the fear, the struggles of my parents and my relatives who has voting age.
In this movie I saw myself in one of those crowds. Ours did not went up that for all was done in secret.

That was the inception of the NPA (New People's Army). Then in 1986 we have the bloodless revolution. The most beautiful experience, having the voice of freedom not to fear. But that was short lived.
NPA is still present but it's more of a livelihood of others rather than the real struggle of the poor and the oppressed.

Our country had the wrong footing after the Spanish regime. Then followed by the rich and famous, the intellectuals who turned politics into business or livelihood. My countrymen who have good intentions for our country can never made the wrongs of the many years in the past as easy as we hoped for. This is coupled with the population explosion. Supply of food or jobs that cannot meet the demands. So making it right of the damage that has been wrong for a long long time is nowhere to realize. But we kept on hoping even if it's hope against hope.

But we have a better place in heaven. We might just wait for that. Jesus is coming soon to take us where He goes.
